Creation Myths by Chris Hamilton

“The creation myth is ubiquitous in all cultures. Humankind has always tried to make sense of nonsense and see patterns in chaos. Some of the creation myths humans have come up with through the ages are just as absurd as the ones presented in this show, sometimes even more so. Using a combination of photoshopped images inlaid in layers of acrylic medium and textured colour to present a dream-like space, and infused with a generous helping of tongue-in-cheek humour, the paintings present the absurdity of the creation myth as seen through the eyes of a queer atheist.” – Chris Hamilton

Opening reception Friday October 22nd at 7:00pm
